Manzanillo Sets New Record with 3.59 Million TEUs Moved in 2024

The Port of Manzanillo has achieved a milestone in 2024, handling a total of 3.59 million TEUs during the first eleven months of the year, setting a new historic record in commercial cargo movement. This result represents a 6.1% increase compared to the same period last year.

Key Achievements in 2024

The Administration of the National Port System (Asipona) Manzanillo, under the Ministry of the Navy, reported the following breakdown:

44% of the cargo moved was imports, totaling 1.56 million TEUs (14% higher than in 2023).
41% of the cargo consisted of exports, totaling 1.48 million TEUs (12% more than in 2023).
15% of the cargo was transshipment, totaling 891,000 TEUs (13% increase from 2023).
