Marítima Mazatlán Terminal Closes 2024 with Over 20% Growth in Cargo Handling
Marítima Mazatlán Terminal (TMAZ) has achieved a remarkable milestone in 2024, registering over 20% growth in cargo handling. The terminal also emerged as the second-largest vehicle operator on the Pacific coast, successfully transferring more than 160,000 units throughout the year.
Expansion in Vehicle and Steel Logistics
TMAZ General Manager Mauricio Ortiz stated, “The terminal has now diversified its clients and has importers from Asia, thanks to the more than five kilometers of rail tracks within the terminal, allowing us to move steel, containers, and vehicles with a high level of productivity.”
Strategic Investments and Future Growth
The terminal features a specialized 5,300 m² warehouse for steel handling, equipped with two travelling cranes, and expects at least a 5% annual increase in this type of cargo. Looking ahead to 2025, TMAZ is projecting a vehicle handling increase of over 5% and a 10% growth in steel cargo.
Enhanced Breakbulk Cargo Management
In addition to its vehicle and steel operations, TMAZ continues to strengthen its expertise in breakbulk cargo management, ensuring higher efficiency and streamlined operations for various logistics needs.
