CHINESE NEW YEAR: IS YOUR BUSINESS READY?

2022-02-03

Chinese New Year is one of the most significant celebrations in China and it creates a big mass migration around the world. As a result , this holiday is a huge disruptor of not only the Chinese, but all global supply chains, as it has a break in production for Chinese based suppliers, contract manufactures and partners.

During the duration of the holiday almost everything shuts down, including the government and the factories, while ports and customs usually function with a minimum staff prioritizing the deliveries.

This year is even more of a challenge because of the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing starting on February 3rd, reducing the shortage of shipping space and container availability. As a result of all this facts, it is expected that there will be fewer and more limited shipments coming out of China in the first months of 2022.
