Hyundai Completes Pilot Export via CIIT, Reducing Costs and Transit Time to U.S.

During the last week of March and the first week of April, Hyundai successfully completed its first pilot test for transporting vehicles to the United States using the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec (CIIT). The operation demonstrated a faster and more cost-effective alternative compared to the traditional Panama Canal route.
CIIT Railway Line Z Enables Efficient Vehicle Transport
The pilot program involved the movement of 900 vehicles in two separate batches: the first with 600 vehicles, followed by 300 more just nine hours later. The logistics operation was completed within one week, showcasing the corridor’s operational viability and infrastructure readiness.

Once loaded onto CIIT’s Line Z railway, the vehicles were shipped aboard the vessel RCC Africa bound for the U.S. state of Georgia. The success of this pilot reinforces CIIT’s role as a strategic logistics alternative for international trade, especially for the automotive industry.
